In this session, a simple location search application is used to demonstrate how to design and implement a RESTful Web Service using WebLogic Server 10.3. The Java application uses both JAX-WS and JAXB technologies to simplify the program development and deployment.

The session will focus on the server side programming; instead of client side scripting. The following topics will be present:

  • The location search logic with geocoding
  • XML Schema design and JAXB code generation
  • The RESTful Web Services Java coding
  • Different REST HTTP GET and POST methods
  • Configuration and deployment with ANT scripts

The session will open the conversations for getting future requirements on RESTful Web Services for the feature release on WebLogic Server.

Please come and take a rest on the REST approach.
